An opening has emerged for a Secretary to join our team based in Wakefield.

The main purpose of the role, is to provide a comprehensive support function to the District / Departmental Senior Leadership Team and work closely with colleagues to provide support across the organisation in times of absence or high workloads.

The successful applicant will have a RSA II qualification or equivalent experience and a high level of typing accuracy and a speed of no less than 30wpm.

You will have the ability to work as part of a team and have a good knowledge of and ability to use computerised packages such as Microsoft Office.

Good organisational and interpersonal skills are essential in this role.

Previous secretarial experience and a knowledge of Police and Local Government procedures and processes is desirable

In addition, you must be prepared to work at other sites within the District Area other than normal place of work as and when required to provide business continuity and to enable the cluster to fulfil force-wide needs.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
