West Yorkshire Police would welcome applications for the role of Temporary Driver Handyperson based at Trafalgar House, Nelson Street, Bradford. You will be responsible for providing a maintenance service covering stations across Bradford and Calderdale.
This fixed term contract will end on 31st March 2019.
In this role, you will provide general maintenance duties which will include minor general repairs, liaising with contractors, moving goods and furniture, and receiving deliveries and transporting them around the building. You will be required to drive a fleet vehicle between different sites, however, driving is a minor part of this role.
A knowledge of general building maintenance and an ability to carry out minor repairs is essential.
To be considered for this role, you must have the ability to pass an eyesight test at/before interview, possess a full and current UK/European driving licence and you must be able to pass a D1 authority driving licence test. You will also have to pass the Policing Driving Test including Transit Vans.
As a Driver Handyperson, you must be willing to work in any post appropriate to the grade at such other place within the Force as maybe reasonably required, and be physically capable to undertake the duties of the post which involve heavy lifting.
