West Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Mark Burns-Williamson, is seeking to appoint a Research Manager to work with him to continue to make a real difference to the lives of people across communities in West Yorkshire.

In this key position you will provide expert and professional advice, information and support to the PCC, the OPCC and partners. You will work closely with the DPCC and Head of Delivery to drive the development and delivery of the Police and Crime Plan, ensuring that we understand the needs of our communities and are effectively monitoring OPCC, police and partner performance, developing and delivering the outcomes and priorities in the Police and Crime Plan to keep West Yorkshire safe and feeling safe.

Candidates will be educated to degree level in a related field or will have experience in a related professional area.

You will come with experience of designing and conducting research using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, a proven ability to gather, analyse, interpret and report information using computerised applications and hold experience of managing research projects and policy development within fixed deadlines

You will also have a history of working effectively with colleagues at different levels including senior managers and leaders. You will provide advice, information and represent the PCC in strategic discussions with delivery partners.

In addition, you must be prepared to work flexibly to support the work of the OPCC, be available outside normal hours to provide advice and support, and travel across West Yorkshire and nationally to attend events as needed. The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
