West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit 3 full time DBS Disclosure Officers to join the DBS- Information Management Unit, based at Force Headquarters in Wakefield.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for processing Disclosure and Barring Service checks as well as Common Law Police Disclosures. In this role, you will interpret and analyse information on local and national Police systems, using this to make rationalised decisions for the disclosure or non-disclosure of information in line with national legislation and the DBS Quality Assurance Framework.

To be successful for this role, it is essential that you have excellent literacy skills and have the ability to competently use a range of computerised systems and packages, such as Microsoft Office. This role requires a successful candidate to have a previous experience in researching and interpreting information, having had experience of office systems and procedures and a basic and up to date knowledge of Data Protection and Human Rights legislation.

To be considered for this role you must be willing and able to undertake and successfully complete relevant departmental and Force training on West Yorkshire Police systems.

The department operates Monday to Friday however, you must be prepared to work flexibly to suit the requirements of the department. Agile working is available. You will also be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.

For roles which are advertised as Career Progression Schemes, individuals will be appointed to the bottom scale point of the appropriate grade within the scheme, based on the role entry requirements.
