We are looking to select 2 officers for a succession list post for the cyber prevent role. The post is currently funded through a national grant and is reviewed on an annual basis.

Applications are invited from Police Constables and Detective Constables who can demonstrate the aptitude required, including the investigative experience to be a Cyber Prevent Delivery Officer.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a regional alliance that is a key component in the response to serious and organised criminality within Yorkshire and the Humber.

The successful applicants will join the Regional Cyber Crime Unit which is based in Wakefield. However, you will be expected to work across the 4 Forces on an agile basis and predominantly work out and about across the Region.

The main purpose of the prevent role is to prevent and deter individuals from becoming involved in cybercrime. You will work in partnership with law enforcement, education and private industry, providing support and diversion opportunities and also alternative disposal strategies.

Officers should be able to build and influence effective working relationships across internal and external professional networks and will have experience in partnership working with public and private organisations.

You will need strong communication skills, both written and oral, in order to develop clear, concise and articulate technology and data strategies for a variety of audiences. Furthermore, you must be able to plan and organise in collaboration with partners to ensure timely, meaningful and current information is delivered and disseminated professionally across the region

Eligible candidates will hold a UK Passport, be willing to travel throughout the UK and internationally as required. Additionally, you must hold a full current UK/European driving licence, use your own vehicle for business purposes and work flexibly to suit business needs.

The successful candidates will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.

Interviews will be held in June 2018

West Yorkshire Police Officers who are successful will be posted, while officers from the other Regional Forces will take up the role as a secondment and will require permission from their home Force in order to be eligible to apply.
