Applications are invited from substantive Police Constables (PC/DC) who have completed their 2-year probationary period by the closing date of this advert.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police officers and a secondment if from the Regional Forces. If as a secondment you will require permission from your current Force in order to be eligible to apply.

Candidates will require support from their Home Force in terms of ultimately being released to the ROCU, as well as personal support in terms of being supported in respect of being able to undertake the role itself. Candidates should therefore advise their line managers/SLT of their application, in addition to advising their local Resourcing/HR team of the application.

This is a rare opportunity to join a team of specialist staff operating within the Yorkshire & the Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU) working alongside specialist capabilities, supporting and delivering Operational activity across local, regional and national Policing areas.

You will join a team of dedicated Intelligence Officers, Analysts and Researchers supporting proactive and reactive, serious, organised and major crime operations across the Yorkshire and Humber Region. You will be working in partnership with Yorkshire and Humber Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies gathering, analysing, interpreting, developing and disseminating sensitive intelligence using all available resources. You will be responsible for producing intelligence products that meet the operational objectives whilst protecting all covert sources from which the intelligence was derived.

Successful applicants will be expected to under-go SC vetting.

If successful you will be required to attend the Intelligence Officer enhanced course and pass the Communications Data Investigator (SPOC) Accreditation Course. Once appointed you will be expected to work a shift pattern and undertake periods of on call. You must also have the ability and willingness, if the needs of the Region require, to work at any district / unit within the Region.
