The Precision Dedicated Surveillance Team form a part of Protective Services Crime.

This work involves a variety covert tactics to target organised criminality that presents some of the highest risks to the communities of West Yorkshire.

The teams work closely with the 5 district Programme Precision Organised Crime teams. The work focusses on those that present the greatest threat, risk and harm to the public, such as firearms, large scale drugs supply, money laundering and criminality involving the use of vulnerable persons.

As a DST Surveillance Motorcyclist, you will be expected to pass the Advanced Driver, mobile Surveillance Qualifications and Surveillance motorcycle course.

Beyond this, further opportunities in covert specialisms may be available.
The opportunity to complete this range of training within West Yorkshire Police is unique to our department.

Current qualifications in any of these areas would be an advantage. Your role will be to ensure that we achieve the best evidence in our investigations and to assist in securing convictions against some of the most serious offenders within West Yorkshire.

We are seeking proactive crime orientated Officers who have the ability to progress and develop in a range of disciplines. The ideal candidate will display initiative and a proactive approach to the investigation of Organised Criminality.
A flexible approach to this demanding role will be required, and the ability to work extended tours of duty.
