Applications are invited from all substantive Inspectors, plus those officers promoted Inspector under OSPRE who are within their 12 month probation and those temporarily promoted Inspectors under the NPPF. In addition, it is open to those officers on the Sergeant to Inspector promotion select list.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police Officers and a transfer or secondment if from the Regional Forces. Applicants from Regional Forces will require permission from their current Force in order to be eligible to apply, as per their Home Force policy.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a unique Team, supporting the work of Counter Terrorism Policing.

You will manage and direct staff within the North East Regional Prison Intelligence Unit (NERPIU), ensuring an effective and efficient response in the development of intelligence of key national, regional and local priorities relating to Counter Terrorism (CT), Organised Crime (OC) and Counter Corruption.

You will work with partners to manage and develop intelligence and ensure a partnership approach in the management, targeted disruption and investigation of high harm/high risk offenders, to minimise the threat and risk posed.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in crime/intelligence management, a thorough understanding of the National Intelligence Model and leadership abilities to direct and control others during specialist operations. You will also have a knowledge of existing Force/Regional procedures and standards required when planning and instigating operations with the ability to assess the implication of action beyond the boundaries of Forces and the region.

You will be required to hold a full and current UK/European driving licence with access to your own vehicle and prepared to use it for business purposes. In addition, you must be prepared to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the Department, plus have a willingness and ability to travel/work across the NE Region and outside the region if required.
