We invite applications from Detective Constables, Trainee Investigators and Police Constables who have completed their two year probationary period and have ICIDP accreditation, or who aspire to complete the ICIDP programme to join the Regional Dark Web Operations Team (RDOT) - an exciting dynamic team within the Regional Cyber Crime Unit, part of the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Organised Crime Unit (YHROCU)

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police officers and a secondment if from the Regional Forces. As this is a secondment you will require permission from your current Force in order to be eligible to apply.

Candidates will require support from their Home Force in terms of ultimately being released to the ROCU, as well as personal support in terms of being supported in respect of being able to undertake the role itself. Candidates should therefore advise their line managers/SLT of their application, in addition to advising their local Resourcing/HR team of the application.

Regardless of your current pathway, you will be crime-orientated with a strong background in crime investigations, submitting court files and an enthusiasm to develop new skills. You will display initiative and a proactive approach to the investigation and disruption of Organised Criminality utilising the Dark Web and a drive to make the most of intelligence opportunities to support our proactive style of policing.

The team that you as a successful applicant will join is part of the National Dark Web Intelligence, Collection and Exploitation unit (DICE). You will have the opportunity to work closely with the specialist teams across the ROCU and Forces, along with other ROCUs across England and Wales. Additionally, you will work with other law enforcement agencies including the National Crime Agency, Home Office Specialist Investigations Unit, and overseas crime partners

Here, you will develop intelligence and investigate serious and complex criminal offences through the use of both overt and covert tactics.
