An opportunity has arisen to join the Business Readiness Delivery Team working in an innovative, rewarding yet challenging environment. The team are at the forefront of delivering technologies and advancements in policing both locally and nationally.

Responsibilities for the role include the development, delivery and support of projects relating to Police Technology including mobile data, body-worn videos, biometrics, dashcams, AI and other emerging technologies. You will identify and gather operational requirements that can be turned into business benefits i.e. reducing monetary cost, reducing time required to complete a task, using automated workflows, improving data quality, and improving the Victim’s Journey / customer experience. The resulting product will enhance individual / Team / Force performance and address our priorities.

We are looking for an individual with a wide breadth of operational experience gained across the policing organisation, coupled with digital knowledge and an interest in technology

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with colleagues from frontline roles, specialisms and subject matter experts including but not limited to Use of Force, Training School, Criminal Justice, Ticket Office, PND, PNC, Demand Reduction, Digital Policing, Field Support, Force Communications, Information Management, Legal Services, Crime Scene Investigation and PSD

To develop new and existing products, collaboration with external stakeholders is required, such as the local authority, Motorola Solutions for Pronto, BWV and Video Manager, the Home Office for Biometrics Services, academia and many more.

The successful candidate is required to possess a basic knowledge of Force policies, processes and systems, and have the ability to develop technical skills and knowledge in order to deliver Force-wide projects. Minimum established skills for the candidate are a good understanding of Niche, the O365 suite, CORVUS and SharePoint. With the capability and desire to acquire future skills including Power Apps and Power Automate.

The role requires frequent reassessment of priorities, good communication skills for written reports, excellent verbal communication skills for explaining processes, an analytical mindset, a problem-solving approach to newly identified issues, compliance with high data quality standards, the ability to instruct/demonstrate processes to people, some flexible working hours and a willingness to travel Force wide. Agile working is available where agreed.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal vetting checks prior to the appointment.
