Applications are invited from all substantive Inspectors, plus those officers promoted Inspector under OSPRE who are within their 12-month probation and those temporarily promoted Inspectors under the NPPF. In addition, it is open to those officers on the Inspector promotion select list.

Expressions of interest are invited from Inspectors to join Operational Support, Carr Gate, to undertake the role of Team Inspector leading the FSDR teams and working an FSDR rota. The role involves being responsible for the management, co-ordinating and tasking of resources from Operational Support. These resources include FSU, SSG, RPU officers.

In addition, supervising the ranks of Constable and Sergeant in a variety of law enforcement and related tasks and managing assigned specialist functions where appropriate. Operational Support Resources work across the whole of the Force and the role also involves critical incident management and some understanding of JESIP principles and application.

Applicants must be enthusiastic, motivated, flexible, and able to adapt to perform the role of FIM, PIM and other specialist functions with some on-call responsibilities, often at short notice. Evidence of effective partnership working, critical incident management and excellent communication skills is also required.

Applications can be received from those substantive in role including those who are not substantive in rank and currently awaiting posting from the recent promotion boards.
