Safer Travel Sergeant PYS400
This Sergeant will be aligned to the Serious Violent Crime Grip team/Violence Reduction Unit.
You will be responsible for forging strategic alliances with partners who operate within the bus network and its infrastructure, as well as the tactical and operational deployment of a team of 15 PCSOs based in the District NPTs, working to increase visibility, engagement, and public confidence in the safety of the bus transport network.
You will have a focus on Crime prevention, Serious Violent Crime, Anti-social behaviour and Violence against Women and Girls, and work closely with Operation Jemlock and the Violence Reduction Unit.
You will be able to evidence operational competence in resource management, planning and implementing bespoke operations, a preventative mindset, and a problem-solving approach within a partnership environment.
Hours of Work Monday to Friday 0800 x 1600
Location –There are plans to be located within the Wakefield One building of Wakefield Council, however this won’t be available for up to 12 months. Until this time, it initially will be working from Havertop, however there is a degree of flexibility as the PCSOs will be located Force wide. This can be agreed before appointment with the SLT lead.
This is an agile post with an expectation of travel and working at various locations around the Force and some working from home. An agile kit will be provided to facilitate this
You will have ability and willingness to travel around the Force in your own vehicle, for business purposes and have the appropriate business insurance
