Applications are invited from Police Sergeants and Constables qualified to the rank of Sergeant (OSPRE or NPPF), by the closing date of this advert.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and hardworking Sergeants or NPPF/OSPRE qualified Constables on temporary promotion to join the Leadership and Management Department for up to three years secondment to deliver the upcoming Cultural Awareness Programme.

The Cultural Awareness Programme is a new two-day course that will be delivered to all members of West Yorkshire Police. The purpose of this course is to improve the knowledge and confidence of our workforce by improving awareness and understanding of the diverse cultures within the communities of West Yorkshire, in turn improving service delivery and public confidence.

Successful candidates will deliver this training alongside experts from Inclusive Employers, a leading training organisation in this field.

If you have a strong commitment to West Yorkshire Police and are passionate about the development of our workforce and supporting force objectives in terms of diversity and inclusion, then this role will suit you.

The successful candidate will hold a minimum level 3 CIPD Certificate in Learning and Development (or equivalent) and will have recent experience of engaging and working with diverse individuals and communities. Applicants will require a comprehensive understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and human rights legislation.

You will need to be able to manage the development needs of your students and support the individual learning journey throughout the course, whilst setting and upholding the highest standards of professional behaviour.
