THIS VACANCY IS A REGIONAL ROLE, ADVERTISED BY WEST YORKSHIRE POLICE, OPEN TO APPLICANTS IN THE SEVEN REGIONAL FORCES AND SUBJECT TO WEST YORKSHIRE RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION PROTOCOLS.

The role is based in the North Hub, covering Cleveland, Durham and Northumbria Force areas with base location in the Cleveland office.

Applications are invited from all substantive Sergeants, plus those Officers promoted Sergeant under OSPRE who are within their 12 month probation and those temporarily promoted Sergeants under the NPPF. In addition, it is open to those Officers on the Constable to Sergeant promotion select list.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police Officers and a transfer or secondment if from the Regional Forces. Applicants from Regional Forces will require permission from their current Force in order to be eligible to apply, as per their Home Force policy.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terrorism Policing.

As a Sergeant within CTP NE DSU, you will be responsible for the supervision and day to day management of the recruitment, maintenance and development of covert sources. This will involve ensuring compliance with RIPA, The ACPO Manual on the Management of CHIS, Force Policy, National Doctrine and Revised Codes of Practice.

To be considered for this role, you must have previous knowledge of source handling and have the ability to pass the security service controllers course. You will also have a basic knowledge of RIPA, HRA, Data Protection legislation, MOPI and National Standards of Intelligence Management (NSIM).
