Applications are invited from all substantive Inspectors, plus those officers promoted Inspector under OSPRE who are within their 12 month probation and those temporarily promoted Inspectors under the NPPF. In addition, it is open to those officers on the Sergeant to Inspector promotion select list.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police Officers and a transfer or secondment if from the Regional Forces. Applicants from Regional Forces will require permission from their current Force in order to be eligible to apply, as per their Home Force policy.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a unique Team, supporting the work of Counter Terrorism Policing, working predominantly in the Humberside Force area with an expectation to travel to South Yorkshire, where the team are also positioned.

As the Intelligence Manager you will head up a team at the forefront of policing tactics, effectively managing the Department’s capability to receive, assess, proactively develop and manage all new information and intelligence in order to deter, detect and disrupt terrorism whilst protecting the public. This will be in support of the delivery of the CTP regional, national and strategic priorities.

Working with your team and internal/external partners you will develop enhancement plans using a range of overt and covert tactics, developing intelligence to deliver the highest quality outputs whilst ensuring appropriate dissemination and handling systems and procedures are adhered to. You will also play a key role in managing the flow of intelligence from source into investigations. Dealing with the highest levels of threat and harm, ensuring regional and national security, you will work on a regional level frequently and at times nationally.

To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate experience in crime management and/or offender management, alongside knowledge around intelligence management and a good understanding of the National Standards Intelligence Model (NSIM). You will also need to demonstrate strong leadership abilities, to direct and lead others during specialist operations, with the ability to assess the implication of any action beyond the boundaries of Forces and the region.

In addition, you will need to have a knowledge of existing Force/Regional procedures and standards required when planning and instigating operations.

You will be required to undertake vetting checks at Developed level, hold a full and current UK/European driving licence, have access to your own vehicle and prepared to use it for business purposes. You will be required to travel and work across the NE Region and outside the region when necessary.

The successful candidate will be provided with role relevant training and support.
