Applications are invited from all substantive Sergeants, plus those Officers promoted Sergeant under OSPRE who are within their 12 month probation and those temporarily promoted Sergeant under the NPPF. In addition, it is open to those Officers on the Constable to Sergeant promotion select list.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police Officers and a transfer or secondment if from the Regional Forces. Applicants from Regional Forces will require permission from their current Force in order to be eligible to apply, as per their Home Force policy.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terrorism Policing.

In this role, you will be responsible for the management of the CTP NE HUMINT Team, providing covert tactical advice and ensuring the ethical management of sensitive intelligence, within existing legislation and guidelines.

In conjunction with the Undercover Covert Operations Manager (COM-UC), you will be responsible for ensuring that arrangements exist for the legislative oversight, management of Undercover Officers and tactics and the supervision of officers and staff.

You will have successfully completed ICIDP or equivalent, have a detailed knowledge of relevant legislation including RIPA, ECHR and Terrorist Legislations and have experience of working in a sensitive or confidential environment.

You should be prepared to work flexible hours to meet operational requirements and be able to work an on call rota. You should also hold a full driving licence.

It would be an advantage if you have successfully managed undercover intelligence and evidence gathering operations.

Please note that the successful candidate will be subject to enhanced level personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment and developed level personal and financial vetting checks after appointment.
