The Office of the Force Crime Registrar are looking to appoint a Crime Data Integrity Audit and Inspection Officer to join their team.

The CDI Audit and Inspection officers are aligned to the Office of the Force Crime Registrar, which falls under the umbrella of Corporate Services at HQ. The role involves both agile and office based work . The team consist currently of 8 FTE Police Staff with a mixture of full/part time working.

The role of the CDI audit and Inspection officer is a key role within the organisation to ensure compliance with the Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR). This key function drives ethical crime recording, recognises victims of crime at the earliest opportunity, provides front line officers with assistance and ensures that feedback and support is provided when crime reports are not appropriately recorded and addressed.

The CDI Audit and Inspection officers are responsible for conducting regular audits and corrective work on all areas of policing in line with the annual audit plan. The CDI Audit and Inspection Officer role was pivotal in securing West Yorkshire Police's "Outstanding" grade by the HMICFRS for CDI (crime data integrity) compliance which the Force wishes to retain in future inspections.

CDI Audit and Inspection officers provide advice for the Force in relation to crime recording. They are also the SPOCs for large scale enquiries that are currently ongoing across the Force.

The CDI audit and Inspection officers are a highly motivated team, that have numerous workflows to deal with, but at the same time are able to manage their own workload and develop their own area of expertise within the crime recording world.
