Location: Halifax.
Two full-time (2 x37 hours) secondments of 12 months (+)

Expressions of Interest applications are invited from staff for the roles of Complex Disclosure and Case Preparation Officer x 2

The roles will involve working on non-recent CSE investigations and will be based at Bradford and Halifax Police Stations.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in file preparation and disclosure and will be required to undertake investigative actions, interviewing witnesses and complainants using PEACE/PACE interview methods, producing accurate written statements.

Working closely with the Crown Prosecution Service you will perform the role of disclosure officer which includes reviewing and summarising any third-party material in line with current protocols, whilst adhering to relevant and up to date legislation such as CPIA 1996 Codes of Practice and AG Guidelines.

You will be required to attend Case Conferences and Magistrates/Crown/Family/Civil Court to give evidence in relation to Disclosure matters or as a witness of fact.

The non-recent CSE investigations are large scale enquiries, with numerous suspects/victims per investigation. The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate excellent organisation and communication skills and will work alongside the operational officers within the team. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently, whilst adhering to tight time scales.

There will be opportunity for agile working.

This position is primarily for a minimum of 12 months but is likely to be extended due to the nature of the investigation. Applicants must discuss their expression of interest with their line manager and seek approval before submitting application and approval through SLT must be gained.

Please note: If this role is a higher grade than your current role you MUST have an overall PDR rating of Successful Performer or above. Those with a PDR rating of Needs Improvement can apply for roles of the same or lower grade, those rated as Unacceptable are not eligible to apply for any roles.

For roles which are advertised as Career Progression Schemes, individuals will be appointed to the bottom scale point of the appropriate grade within the scheme, based on the role entry requirements. Full progression through the scheme may be subject to attaining a specific qualification or successfully passing an assessment or review.
