This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy team in a varied and challenging role. The successful candidate will be expected to develop productive relationships with key partners, taking responsibility for their managed nominals and strengthen their risk management abilities.

Successful applicants would be required to:-
• be highly motivated, work as part of a team and without constant supervision.
• Actively manage a workload – predominantly Registered Sex Offenders - for whom we have statutory responsibility.
• Work closely with partner agencies for a multi-agency approach to managing risk, attending meetings as required.
• Understand and work within MAPPA guidance.
• Carry out thorough risk assessments, using these to inform risk management plans and updating them as appropriate.
• Use Visor, OSP and ARMS assessment tools.
• Be flexible and have the ability to work varied shifts to accommodate meetings and manage workload effectively.

This is a frontline policing role, so officers will be required to be up to date on their OST/First aid.

Applicants are not expected to have previous experience of the above areas and training in role will be provided in line with national requirements.

The shift pattern is on a four weekly rota, with a combination of day and late shifts (1400 x 2200), with one working weekend in four.

Please note this is not a Safeguarding investigations post – this is an offender management post. Currently we are limited to the generic Safeguarding Officer role profile which is not fully reflective of the work of a PPU constable. If you are interested and require more detail of the role, you should contact Sgt Linda Sibley or Sgt Nicola Priest.

Your application must have the support of your line manager and reflect an understanding of the role of a Public Protection Officer and describe how you feel you would meet the criteria for the role.

Selection will be subject to the standard application process and interview.

Applicants must have a valid PDR that meet the minimum required standard and all applicants must meet the attendance standard at the closing date of this advert.
