Applications are invited from Substantive Detective Constables who have completed their 2-year probationary period by the closing date of this advert.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police Officers and a regional transfer or secondment opportunity for Officers from the Regional Forces. Applicants from the Regional Forces will require permission from their current Force in order to be eligible to apply for this opportunity, as per their Home Force policy.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a unique team. You will act as coordination and support function for both HMPPS and local Forces for corruption cases and be willing to undertake directed enquiries, providing support to the Regional Prisons Intelligence Unit. This will involve providing support with the identification and securing of crime scenes and the preservation of evidence within the HMPPS premises.

You will also support corruption investigations within the prison and probation network and, as directed, undertake investigations for offences committed by staff as well as those who seek to corrupt staff within HMPPS premises. You will work in partnership with the HMPPS Regional Counter Corruption Units and identify intelligence opportunities to support the HMPPS intelligence network.

To be considered for the role, you will hold a PIP Level 2 qualification and be able to demonstrate experience of serious and complex criminal investigations. You will have experience of complex information gathering and problem solving.

You must have a willingness and ability to travel for work purposes.

A knowledge of counter corruption/SOC and/or HMPPS Intelligence, together with experience of working with partner agencies and working in an intelligence environment, would be an advantage.
