Applications are invited from all substantive Sergeants, plus those Officers promoted Sergeant under OSPRE who are within their 12 month probation and those temporarily promoted Sergeant under the NPPF. In addition, it is open to those Officers on the Constable to Sergeant promotion select list.

This will be a posting for West Yorkshire Police Officers and a transfer or secondment if from the Regional Forces. Applicants from Regional Forces will require permission from their current Force in order to be eligible to apply, as per their Home Force policy.

This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in a unique team based in Leeds, supporting the work of Counter Terror Policing. In this role, you will supervise local, regional and national covert counter terrorism operations within the Operations Room environment, in line with CTP priorities to counter terrorism, extremism and threats to national security. You will also assess and action intelligence raised by such operations in support of deployment of covert assets following the Manual of Major Covert Terrorist Investigations.

We are looking for someone who has experience in the management of covert investigation and the management of intelligence resources, together with a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and integrity and a broad knowledge and experience of covert policing methods.

You will have leadership abilities to direct and control others during specialist operations and the ability to work as part of a team, together with experience of working with Police partner agencies. You must be prepared to work flexible hours and call-outs as required and be willing and able to travel for business purposes throughout the UK.

Please note that the successful candidate will be subject to enhanced level personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment and developed level personal and financial vetting checks after appointment.

You must be a British citizen and eligible to hold a British passport to work in the CTP NE.
