Expressions of Interest applications are invited from all substantive Bradford Inspectors AND all Bradford Sergeants who are qualified to the rank of Inspector.

The aim of the role is to provide a customer focused interface between West Yorkshire Police and the general public through the prevention and detection of crime and the maintenance of public order, in line with the Chief Constable’s Purpose and Values.

The Neighbourhood Inspector role is a really challenging and rewarding one, involving working with key partners on a daily basis to improve quality of life issues within the area. The primary focus of the role is around early intervention and problem solving, working in partnership to reduce demand on both Police and Partner services and addressing quality of life issues for the communities we serve. Through being familiar and engaged within Bradford, you will build community confidence, improve community cohesion, develop community assets and undertake joint problem solving with our partners and communities.

Your application should have the support of your line manager and confirmation of this support, both in terms of your abstraction from your usual duties and in terms of personal support. Please note: If this role is a higher grade than your current role you MUST have an overall PDR rating of Successful Performer or above. Those with a PDR rating of Needs Improvement can apply for roles of the same or lower grade, those rated as Unacceptable are not eligible to apply for any roles.
