West Yorkshire Police as the lead Force for the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services is looking to recruit a CCTV Officer to work at Calder Park in Wakefield.

In this role you will undertake technical processes in the forensic retrieval, image analysis, and enhancement of CCTV images and metadata, and other evidential material, and provide specialist support, advice and technical assistance which meets the investigative requirements of all four Forces within the Yorkshire and Humber region.

This includes attending in and around crime scenes to recover CCTV data and ensuring that retrieval is carried out in an evidentially safe manner that satisfies all local, National and Home Office guidelines.

Eligible candidates will come with a relevant degree or previous experience working in an associated field and will have a proven understanding of computer hardware to component level, as well as a working knowledge of relevant common operating systems such as MS Windows.

Due to the nature of the role, you must also be prepared to work at height and in confined spaces, and have the physical and emotional resilience to be able to deal with images and scenes of a disturbing nature. You will also be required to participate in a standby rota and will be required to work for periods unsupervised.

You must also successfully complete a manual lifting and handling course and be prepared to travel for business purposes; possession of a full current UK/European driving licence is therefore essential.
