It is an exciting time to join the Employee Relations team at West Yorkshire Police. Following a restructure of the existing HR teams, the newly established Employee Relations Team is seeking to appoint Employee Relations Advisers. The Employee Relations Team are supported by a People Helpdesk who handle the transaction People activity. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidates to take up a new and exciting position and contribute to the modernisation of People management practices throughout West Yorkshire Police.

In this role you will be required to:

Deliver an efficient and effective professional customer focused Employee Relations service to all staff and managers across the Force in the following areas:

• Provide advice and participate in the management of informal/formal People processes ensuring a consistent and professional approach when advising at all times.

• Design, develop, maintain and consult upon a range of People policies that are compliant with relevant legislation.

• Provide technical advice, guidance and support to line managers and staff in relation to complex case management, ensuring such cases are managed appropriately and effectively.

To be considered for this role:

You must be Level 7 CIPD qualified and have experience in the delivery of a whole range of HR functions.

Have proven experience of working within a HR function and a proven ability in applying employment legislation and advising managers on a diverse range of HR issues.

Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.

Experience of working with Trade Unions and Staff Associations.

You must be able to travel throughout the Force area, and there may be a requirement for national travel.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
