West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit four Duties Planners to join the Force Planning Unit based at Elland Road Police Station in Leeds.

In this role, you will use duties management software to produce, maintain and amend duty rotas in accordance with legislation and policy requirement, and ensure optimum staffing levels are maintained within each District in a cost effective manner.

You will compile and report on duties data including weekly, monthly and annual rosters for police officers/staff to meet operational needs as determined by the Force; taking into account abstractions and adhering to Police Regulations and Staff Terms and Conditions.

The post holder will also plan and publish advanced duties for police officers/staff whilst maintaining minimum staffing levels and identify resources for planned/unplanned operational events as required.

Eligible candidates will come with a good working knowledge of computerised databases and spreadsheet packages and experience of general clerical work. You must have proven ability in the use of Windows based computer systems, including Word and Excel. It is essential you have experience of working within an administration environment and strong interpersonal skills in order to speak with people of all levels.

You must also have previous experience of working to deadlines, and have the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy. You must also be prepared to work flexible hours to suit business needs and at other locations within the Force as may be reasonably required.

We are recruiting for three full time positions which are suitable for job share, and one part-time post working 18.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday.
