West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit an Operational Contracts Officer to join the Commercial Services team based at Unit 41 in Outwood, Wakefield.
In this role, you will provide an efficient and effective service to support the recovery, retention and disposal of vehicles and the handling of recovered animals, and ensure compliance with Force Policy, vehicle recovery legislation and the Dangerous Dogs Act; aiding front line operations.
To be considered for this position, you must have proven experience within an intelligence environment and/or experience of research, and a good working knowledge of, and ability to operate, computerised databases. You will also have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages and the ability to undertake and successfully complete training on Force computer systems. It is also essential that you have a basic understanding of vehicle recovery policy and animal seizure legislation.
Ideal candidates for this post will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and will be able to work in a high pressure environment and to tight deadlines. You must also be prepared to work flexible hours to suit the requirements of the department and be able and willing, if the needs of the Force dictate, to work at any location within the Force.
The successful candidate will be willing to undertake and successfully pass Management Vetting checks (personal and financial) prior to appointment.
