Strategic Accountant
Finance and Commercial Services
Force Headquarters, Wakefield

This is a key role that will deliver a professional financial insights function across the Force, NPAS and the region ensuring that it is customer focused, analyses the current and future operating models of the Force and provides financial analysis to support strategic decision making within the Force on efficient and effective use of resources.

For this role you will be a fully qualified CCAB Accountant with appropriate significant post qualification with experience and knowledge of public sector funding arrangements accounting policies and procedures and legislative framework, a proven ability and experience of contributing to delivering financial balance for a large multi-disciplined organisation is also required. Together with excellent report writing and analytical skills, you will have experience of presenting, advising and influencing at chief officer level in a large complex public sector organisation.

Ideally you will also have undertaken CCAB accredited FBP training to NVQ level 7, previous supervisory experience and be able to demonstrate your capability of dealing with, and supervising staff of different grades and ranks.

You must have a willingness to work flexibly to meet the requirements of the organisation, this may include working outside of standard office hours, a full current UK Driving License and be willing and able to travel for business purposes.
