Working within Accounting and Systems you will execute a comprehensive and professional statutory and non-statutory accounting and related financial planning service, which will involve helping in the co-ordination of production of the Police and Crime Commissioners Group Accounts and appropriate single entity account and executing the production of statutory and non-statutory returns in accordance with legislative requirements.

To undertake this role you need to be a fully qualified CCAB Accountant with appropriate significant post qualification, and your significant experience at a senior level of managing the production of statutory accounts in a Police or Local Authority environment is crucial. Together with well-developed analytical skills, and a good understanding of VAT accounting, you will have the ability to both pro-actively respond to financial issues and to respond appropriately to reactive issues as they arise requirements.

Well-developed oral and written communications skills are also required to communicate financial issues to both internal and external stakeholders. You must also be able to demonstrate proven ability of interpretation and implementation of complex legislative changes to financial reporting requirements and have clear experience of self-motivation and workload prioritisation. Ideally you will have experience of budget preparation and medium and long term forecasts and some supervisory experience

You must have a willingness to work within the full range of the flexi-bandwidth (currently 7am-7pm) when necessary to ensure specific daily tasks are completed, a full current UK Driving Licence and be willing and able to travel for business purposes.
