Finance Systems Manager
Finance and Commercial Services
Force Headquarters, Wakefield
Hours - 37 hours per week - This post is suitable for job share

This key role will ensure that the directorate business strategies are enabled by the finance and commercial services systems, that the Force financial systems are maintained and operated to meet statutory accounting requirements and manage and control the Force budget. They will also be responsible for the continuous review of systems to develop opportunities for improvement in service whilst maintaining the integrity and availability of Force financial records.

To undertake this role you need to hold an AAT or be CCAB Applied Skills part qualified, with appropriate significant post qualification experience, in addition to experience of working within a large and complex financial environment; with specific knowledge and experience of maintaining financial systems (preferably public sector) and of working within a project-based environment, with clear evidence of strong time-management skills.

Together with a High level of knowledge and continual scan of the market of cutting edge financial system developments, best practice and developing trends within the Financial Systems sector, to inform future initiatives within the Force, you will have Extensive experience of working with a range of financial IT systems, and tools, including Sun Accounts, and Companion products and Proactis Spend control; this working experience should be at an advanced/expert level, or with systems administrator level access and proven ability to lead, motivate and direct staff is essential.

Ideally you will also have advanced spreadsheet and database management experience and Project management skills, together with a working knowledge of project work

You must have a willingness and ability to work flexible hours, where required, to meet organisational needs, whilst a full current UK/European driving licence, access to own vehicle and is prepared to use it for business purposes would be desirable.
