We are looking to recruit Finance Business Partners to join the Accounting and Systems team within Finance and Commercial Services based in Wakefield.

As a key link between finance and commercial services directorate and Districts/departments/ business units/ other directorates, you will provide strategic guidance, support and positive challenge to them on all matters related to finance and commercial services in order to meet Force objectives, operational needs and relevant statutory and legislative requirements. Acting as a first port of call for leadership teams of assigned internal customer organisations on all matters related to finance and commercial services in order to ensure value for money and identify opportunities to achieve financial and commercial efficiencies and realise benefits whilst sustaining a robust service delivery.

For this role you will be a fully qualified CCAB Accountant with appropriate significant post qualification experience of working within a large and complex financial environment; one with specific knowledge and experience of fulfilling a budget management role and clear experience of self-motivation and workload prioritisation.

You will also have proven experience of budgetary control, financial planning and forecasting at a senior level, together with well-developed analytical and negotiating skills, and the ability to both pro-actively respond to financial issues and to respond appropriately to reactive issues as they arise. Excellent communication skills are also a must.

You must be prepared to work flexibly to meet the requirements of the organisation. This may include working outside of standard office hours and have a willingness/ability to travel for business purposes.
