The following vacancy has been advertised internally and is available to West Yorkshire Police Support Staff. At Risk Candidates will be considered first.

The role of the Area Evidence Co-Ordinator is to manage and direct the provision of an efficient and robust evidence stores function across multiple sites and ensure seizure, retention and disposal of property is compliant with legislation, policies and procedures.

Duties include: supporting the development of WYP policies and systems, carrying out audits to mitigate the significant risk of evidence being misappropriated, performance management, providing guidance to Police officers and staff on evidence related issues.

The successful candidate will possess a working knowledge of the functioning of a property store and have the ability to extract, analyse and interpret complex data, ideally possessing a working knowledge of Niche and Corvus.

The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate experience of managing a team and of auditing systems and processes. Ideally you must be qualified to IOSH or equivalent and possess a basic knowledge of Health & Safety.

Candidates must be physically capable of undertaking the responsibilities of the post and hold a current full UK/European driving licence, preferably with access to a car and be prepared to use it for business purposes, or have the ability to travel around the Force area, as well as a willingness to work in any post appropriate to the grade at such other place within the Force as may be reasonably required.

Applicants should be aware that it is not always possible to carry out adequate vetting checks on persons who have not been resident within the UK for the last three years. Therefore, where this applies, applicants may be refused on the grounds that it was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.

Interviews are scheduled for the 4th and 5th June at Wakefield DHQ, Normanton. You will be required to deliver a presentation followed by an interview.
