West Yorkshire Police are looking to appoint a Cyber Trainer to provide effectively designed, relevant and accurate legal/procedural criminal cyber training to staff to equip them with the knowledge and skills to conduct criminal investigations competently using available technology. In addition to provide inputs to partner agencies concerning cyber-crime prevention and link in with relevant organisations to assist.

Crime Training are seeking applicants who can deliver cyber training to Police Officers and Police Staff. Successful applicants will contribute to the design and delivery of cyber-crime training, and will also be able to assist, as required, in other areas of design and delivery within the Crime Training function according to business needs.

This post will be based at the Learning and Development Centre now based at Carr Gate’s first class facilities. This facility is recognised nationally for the delivery of first class Detective training, however applicants should be aware that training also takes place at other sites across the Force area and they may have to travel nationally to attend meetings and training programmes to ensure compliance with standards and for personal development.

Applicants will ideally have a good knowledge of pure cyber and cyber related crimes. Candidates should be able to provide effectively designed, relevant and accurate legal/procedural criminal/cyber training to staff to equip them with the knowledge and skills to conduct criminal investigations, competently using available technology.

To be considered for this role you must have Good working knowledge and experience, in the use of computer systems, including Microsoft applications, you must also be willing and have the ability to travel for business purposes and work varied hours to suit the needs for the department.
