West Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), Mark Burns-Williamson, is seeking to appoint a Head of Commissioning to work with him to continue to make a real difference to the lives of people across communities in West Yorkshire.

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with extensive experience of commissioning with excellent influencing and negotiation skills who will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s (OPCC) Commissioning Strategy.

As the principal advisor to the Police and Crime Commissioner you will have experience of commissioning in a complex environment and have expertise in designing and utilising information and intelligence systems to underpin commissioning with the ability to receive, interpret, analyse and then provide direct advice to the PCC on highly complex statistical information; determining need, devising innovative solutions and writing specifications.

You will be educated to degree level or have a recognised relevant professional qualification or have demonstrable equivalent experience and be able to evidence commitment towards your continuous personal and professional development and training.

You will be expected to provide occasional work outside of normal office hours and have the ability to work across West Yorkshire, and travel to meetings and events nationally as required.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
