The Company

West Yorkshire Police is looking to appoint an HR People Services Assistant. This is a varied and interesting role which could be a stepping-stone for those interested in progressing their career within Human Resources. This role is based in Leeds Elland Road.
People Services are the first point of contact for our colleagues and managers for people related matters. We provide initial advice and guidance around HR policy, procedure, regulatory and legislative requirements, in addition to managing the administration of HR processes throughout the employee life cycle.

The People Services team consists of circa 30 colleagues and these are split into six teams covering the Districts and Directorates across West Yorkshire Police. The successful candidate will work within one of these teams, delivering a comprehensive and professional customer focused service to all staff and managers across the Force in accordance with Force Objectives, Policy and Procedure and legislative requirements.


What you’ll need?

• good knowledge of HR gained through experience and administration work
• good understanding of, and able to use a range of computer packages including Microsoft Office.
• Experience of using computer packages to obtain management information data
• Be passionate about helping and protecting the vulnerable
• Be interested in making a difference to the diverse communities of West Yorkshire Police
• Provide high quality customer service.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
