West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit five Witness Care Officers to offer specialist care and support to victims and witnesses and maintain accurate computer records. You will liaise with the Courts, the Crown Prosecution Service and Officers to ensure the efficient exchange of vital information enabling a timely case progression throughout court.
Your patience and understanding will be necessary to work in difficult situations such as dealing with witnesses who may be hostile or reluctant to co-operate. The ideal candidate will come with experience of office systems and procedures and a working knowledge of computer packages such as Microsoft Office.
In addition, you must be prepared to work flexibly to suit business needs, providing office cover between 8am and 6pm.
