Protection Order Case Worker
Safeguarding Central Governance Unit
Leeds
One Part-Time permanent post 18.5 hours

West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit a Protection Order Case Worker to join the Safeguarding Central Governance Unit which was based in Leeds, but now work mostly in an agile capacity.

Working as part of a small team and in conjunction with Districts, you will be responsible for gathering evidence and preparing case files in order to obtain Civil Protection Orders, such as Domestic Violence Protection Orders. You will have a high level of confidence, and be passionate about safeguarding and protecting the vulnerable.

Eligible candidates will come with excellent communication skills, including a good command of written and spoken English. You will need to work to tight deadlines in a pressured environment, including gathering evidence and creation of files in order to acquire civil orders. You will need to publicly present evidence in court coherently and confidently, as the role of “prosecutor” in a civil proceeding.

Furthermore, you must be able to successfully complete training in the preparation and successful presentation of Protection Orders. You will already have good IT skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as an ability to gather analyse, interpret and report information.

In addition, you must be prepared to work flexibly and work from different locations to suit the needs of the unit.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
