The District Intelligence Unit plays a key role in West Yorkshire Police’s aims to be intelligence led. The Office Based Researcher role at Leeds, contributes to the critical service delivery in terms of supporting threat, risk and harm matters. This is in relation to ongoing criminal investigations, development of actionable daily intelligence submissions and identifying crime patterns, hotspots and other risk factors to support both overt and covert proactive policing operations.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate research skills and techniques, as well as the ability to use the research as an aid to decision-making. You will possess a good knowledge of, and be able to use, computer packages and demonstrate effective use of the National Decision Making Model. The role will involve the utilisation of a number of Police systems, in conjunction with several social media platforms.

The successful candidates will work closely with the Leeds based Field Intelligence Officers in developing actionable intelligence and obtaining tangible results.

If successful, you will receive training and be allocated a mentor and attend a standard Researcher Skills course, as well as other relevant courses to the role.
