Data and Information Governance Manager

One Full-time Permanent post

WYP have an exciting opportunity for a Data Governance lead in the Digital Policing Directorate (Data and Information Management Department). You will be one of a team of Subject Matter Experts and manage a team of 4 supporting the fourth largest metropolitan police force. WYP has around 10,000 officers and staff and including the National Police Air Service, and NE Regional Counter Terror, Organised and Economic Crime, and Scientific support units.

We’re looking for someone passionate, positive and dynamic with a strong sense of public service to assist in driving WYP on its data journey.
The main aim of the role is to ensure WYP data and information are used effectively, lawfully, ethically and securely to keep people safe: protecting the vulnerable, preventing and detecting crime and reassuring the public. In addition, the post holder will be actively involved in developing and implementing evolving data strategy.
With responsibility for data governance, literacy, and audit, you will develop, promote, and ensure a framework to achieve data owner accountability and maximise usage of data as a core asset. With a focus on maintaining your knowledge, skills, and expertise, you will represent the force regionally and nationally and, as force expert in your area, provide a support and advice service.

Interviews are expected to take place w/c/ 24th July. Candidates will do a presentation and be assessed using Level 2 competencies from the College of Policing ‘Competencies and Values Framework’.
