Prison Intelligence Officer (PIO)
Counter Terrorism Policing – North East (CTP NE)
One full-time permanent post
Based in a Prison within the Humberside Police Force Area

An excellent opportunity has arisen to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terrorism Policing.

In this role you will provide an interface between the CTP NE, Regional Organised Crime Units (ROCU) and HMPPS across the North East Region Prisons establishments for the purpose of developing intelligence in support of Counter Terrorism (including Domestic Extremism), and organised crime related matters.

This will involve ensuring a partnership approach to the management, disruption and investigation of high risk offenders to minimise the threat and risk posed in the prison estate. Although the role will be focused in the Humberside area, you may be required to work inside any prison within the North East Region, including direct contact with inmates.

Eligible candidates will have experience of working in a multi-agency environment and be computer literate with proven experience of researching and processing information. In addition, they must be able to work for prolonged periods without direct supervision. You will have a basic knowledge of the prison system and national policies relating thereto. You will also have the ability to successfully undertake appropriate training including the following:

• Intelligence Professionalisation Programme (IPP) accreditation process
• Operational Partnerships Team Course (OPT)
• Working in Prison Course

You must be prepared to work flexible hours to suit the CTP requirements with a full, current UK/European driving licence and be prepared to attend meetings and assist operationally throughout the 7 North East Regional Forces and nationally, when required.
