West Yorkshire Police, the overseeing Force for Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Scientific Support Services (RSSS), is looking to recruit an Audio Technical Officer based at Calder Park, Wakefield.

Working as part of a small specialist team of Audio Technical Officers, the role will provide specialist support, relative to audio, to the Yorkshire and the Humber RSSS Imaging Unit.

The successful candidate will hold a degree in Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a similar relevant field, and/or will have equivalent proven experience working in an associated field.

You will have a good working understanding of audio production and post-production techniques, knowledge of industry standard sound and video recording equipment, and the ability to assess sound and audio to a defined occupational standard. In addition, a proven ability to use and change between several professional digital audio workstation and audio editing software packages with associated software plugins, as well as some understanding of video editing software packages, is required.

Experience of recording dialogue and other sound sources, both in the studio and on location, would be advantageous.
