West Yorkshire Police are looking to appoint a number of Prosecution Team Administrators to join the Prosecution Teams at various locations throughout West Yorkshire Police, to provide efficient and effective administrative service to the department in accordance with policy and legislation.

As a Prosecution Team Administrator for West Yorkshire Police you will be responsible for providing support and assistance to operational officers and staff in the transmission of case files to CPS. You will access, input, track and extract data/information from various Force computer systems, ensuring effective, accurate and timely service delivery in accordance with force policy, procedures and legislation.

The successful candidates will ideally possess a basic knowledge of the Criminal Justice system and demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills, combined with good IT literacy skills and the ability to use MS Office software such as Word, Excel and Outlook. In addition, you must ideally be able to travel for business purposes and you must work flexibly to suit the needs of the Prosecution Team.

The successful candidates will commence initial training which will be held Monday –Friday 0800 hrs - 1600hrs, and will last for a period of 8 weeks. Training will commence on 1 September 2020 (subject to vetting and pre-employment checks), and will take place across various areas of the force and will consist of the following:
Week 1 – Induction course
Weeks 2 – 4 IT training
Weeks 5 – 8 Prosecution team administrator role training

The successful candidates will then work between Headquarters at Wakefield and Mirfield Police station. Once initial training has been completed, shifts will commence and will consist of a shift pattern working Monday – Sunday 0700hrs – 1600hrs earlies and 1400hrs – 2200hrs lates on a rota basis. This will attract a shift allowance of 14%.
