West Yorkshire Police are looking to appoint a Researcher to join the Families First team in Leeds District. This post will be based at Merrion House in Leeds City Centre and the successful candidate will work alongside the Families First Team, Children’s Services and the Police to provide the following:

• Compiling a daily report on the Leeds Troubled Families and distributing this to police and partner agencies as part of essential Safeguarding responsibilities
• Carrying out a Families First database review of cases that are to be discussed at the daily Multi Agency team meetings to assist in supporting our most vulnerable families
• Triaging cases to identify potential families who may be eligible for inclusion on the Families First programme
• Manage the integrity of the Families First database and ensure it is effectively coordinates with WYP systems
• Utilise your knowledge around Safeguarding and Data Protection issues whilst providing flexible and responsive support to the Families First Team, Leeds Safeguarding Hub and Police teams
• Research individuals and families to provide reports for various multi agency and partner meetings
• Ensure families that have been included on the Families First Programme are correctly recorded on Police computer systems
• Assist with research to evaluate the successfulness of early help interventions for Families

To be considered for this challenging opportunity, you must be able to work in a dynamic environment, have a good working knowledge of, and ability to operate, computerised databases and it is essential that you must be willing to undertake, and have the ability to successfully complete, IT courses required for the role. You will be working in a multi-agency environment, supporting the early help agenda by working in partnership with other teams and services to support children, young people and families.
