NPAS is the national provider of air support to the Police Forces of England and Wales with West Yorkshire Police being the lead Force.

As part of its commitment to delivering the National Police Air Service, West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit two Line Pilots to be based at Hawarden in Cheshire and Birmingham.

You will be required to fly as a rostered Line Pilot in accordance with the approved Flight Time Limitation (FTL) scheme providing effective aerial support to the ground based officers and in doing so improve operational response to incidents within the highest safety standards.

The ideal candidates will have a minimum of a Commercial Pilot’s Licence (Helicopter) with RT Licence and Class 1 Medical, plus an EASA Single Pilot Instrument Rating.

A team player and self-starter, you will already have gained a minimum of 1,500 hours total flying time which must include 50 hours flying at night (20 hours PIC), 500 hours PIC overland under VMC and significant low flying experience.

You must possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to team members while carrying out other tasks, as well as the ability and flexibility to work at other locations if required, usually with notice but also occasionally on an ad hoc basis.

In addition, you must hold a full UK/European driving licence for this role.

Applicants should be aware that it is not possible to carry out adequate security checks on persons who have not been resident within the UK for the last three years. Therefore, where this applies, applicants will be refused on the grounds that is was not possible to vet them to the appropriate standard.
