As a result of significant expansion West Yorkshire Police are seeking to recruit a Senior Digital Forensic Investigator to work within the Digital Forensic Unit Spoke located at Trafalgar House, Bradford.

The main responsibility of a Senior Digital Forensic Investigator is to be a team leader and first line manager of up to 12 members of staff within the Digital Forensic Unit Spoke. You will provide technical knowledge and investigative skills in all aspect of Digital Forensics supporting a large range of investigations, and be responsible for setting strategies for all levels of digital investigations.

You will supervise the day-to-day management of your team, and also manage the risk of supervising multiple high-risk investigations simultaneously, covering all major crime types. You will also work as part of a team of Senior Digital Forensic Investigators providing expert opinion into the strategic development of the Digital Forensic Unit.

To be considered for this role you must have strong decision-making skills, often working under pressure with competing demands. An advanced knowledge and expertise of common operating systems and computer applications is essential.

You must also be educated to a degree level in a computer based discipline and/or significant experience and understanding of working in a Digital Forensic environment. You must also possess previous supervisory or management experience. A knowledge and experience of operational policing is desirable.

Part of the role involves viewing abusive and offensive imagery often depicting extreme violent, obscenity and depravity, including graphic images of child abuse. You must be willing to undergo regular psychological assessments.

You must be willing to travel for business purposes throughout the UK so a valid UK driving licence is essential.
