West Yorkshire Police is looking to recruit three Prosecution Team Administrators to join the Leeds District Prosecution Team based at Elland Road Police Station in Leeds.

There are two permanent positions and one position on a 12-month fixed term temporary contract.

In this role you will provide an efficient and effective administrative service to the Prosecution Team in accordance with policy and legislation.

In this role you will Access, input, track and extract data/information from the Force computer systems ensuring effective, accurate and timely service delivery in accordance with the requirements of the section, Force policy and legislation.

Provide support and assistance to operational staff in the transmission of documentation for case files, e.g. Crime Records, Home Office Production Orders, and Conditional Cautions including the transmission of specialist and complex cases, ensuring all submissions are in the correct format to be submitted.

Check format and order files for the all first hearings, identifying and selecting the appropriate documentation for submission and liaise with Operational Officers and Staff to secure, where necessary any missing documentation/items.

Provide administrative support to the Prosecution Team Officers and Criminal Justice processes e.g. distributing electronic internal and external mail, directing and downloading digital media in accordance with policy and procedures.

Provide information and support to external partners such as Crown Prosecution Service, Defence Solicitors, and HMCTs.

Manage the process in relation to medical evidence post charge, acting as a point of contact for all authorised requests.

Weeding, archiving and destruction of files in date order in accordance to CPIA guidelines.

You will have a basic knowledge of, and the ability to operate computerised databases such as MS Office

You will have proven experience of working in an administrative role.

Having a basic knowledge of the Criminal Justice system and be able to evidence good customer service skills are desirable.

The successful candidates will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
