West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit 2 Civil Order Caseworkers to join the Safeguarding Central Governance Unit based in Bradford on a fixed term basis until 31st March 2020.

Working as part of a busy small team and in conjunction with Districts and Legal Services, you will be responsible for gathering evidence and preparing case files in order to obtain Civil Orders, such as Sexual Risk Orders. You will have a high level of confidence, and be passionate about safeguarding and protecting the vulnerable.

Eligible candidates will come with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). You will need to work to deadlines in a pressured environment, including gathering evidence and creation of files in order to prepare paperwork for an application. The role may involve publicly presenting evidence in court coherently and confidently, as the role of “prosecutor” in a civil proceeding.

Furthermore, you must be able to successfully complete in house training on the preparation of civil orders. You will already have good IT skills and a working knowledge of MS Office software such as Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as an ability to gather, analyse, interpret and report on information.

In addition, you must be prepared to work flexibly to suit the needs of the unit. The successful candidates will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.
