West Yorkshire Police is looking to appoint a Police Kennel Hand/Driver, based at the Police Dogs Support Unit, Operational Support HQ, Carr Gate, Wakefield.

The role involves working as part of small team responsible for the daily care and welfare of the operational Police dogs kennelled at the Unit. This includes regular exercising of the dogs, grooming and includes some administrative work with placing orders and making veterinary referrals. Records are also required to be maintained for the dogs.

The role involves working effectively as part of a team and being able to work independently when required on shifts. As such, a reliable, enthusiastic and motivated individual is being sought. The role can be physically demanding and that should be considered for any potential candidates.

The Dog Support Unit are an asset to the Force in keeping West Yorkshire Safe.

Any applicant should be capable on passing a Police driving assessment on appointment.
