West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit a Digital IT Project Manager to join Digital Policing Directorate based in Wakefield.

As part of the Digital Innovation team, you will influence the future technological composition and direction of the organisation, by implementing innovative new technologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness in policing.

The scope of your responsibilities will include managing, controlling and coordinating the effective and efficient design, delivery and implementation of a wide range of Digital Policing related projects.

This includes ensuring projects are managed professionally and effectively using appropriate project management techniques to ensure completion to agreed timescales, quality and budget, and managing internal customers and a wide range of professional and specialist supplier teams.

The ideal candidate we are looking for will already have a detailed knowledge of Project Management and substantive experience in technology project planning and control. They will also hold the Prince2 Practitioner qualification and have comprehensive up to date knowledge of Prince2 methodologies; or hold an equivalent Project Management qualification.

Furthermore, you will already have experience of using Microsoft Project or similar Project Management software, and possess a relevant degree or the equivalent experience.

You will also be able to demonstrate your significant experience of leading, developing, managing and co-ordinating major corporate technology projects, as well as your detailed knowledge, understanding and experience of technology change and delivery methodologies in a service orientated environment.

We are seeking a candidate who is not only able to demonstrate their proven ability to lead, motivate and direct project teams comprising of internal stakeholders; professional support and external suppliers, but who can also evidence their experience of successfully influencing Senior Managers.

Similarly, we are seeking an individual who already has a proven ability to interpret business needs; technical requirements and system specifications into tender documentation, and can oversee implementation.

Owing to the nature of this role you must be willing and able to travel for business purposes to be considered for this position.

The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment.

In certain circumstances, West Yorkshire Police may determine that payment of a temporary market factor supplement is appropriate in order to address exceptional pay differentials. This market factor payment is temporary and subject to an annual review (the review is from the original decision made).  Protection of earnings is not applicable to market factor payments.
