The National Police Air Service (NPAS) provides air support to UK Policing through a national collaboration. On a daily basis, NPAS help save lives, tackle criminality, and keep people and communities safe.

We are recruiting for the role of NPAS Support Officer at NPAS HQ in Wakefield. The successful candidate will have previous experience in administrative support and working as part of a team. The role requires the successful candidate to provide efficient and comprehensive operations support administrative facility to the NPAS Senior Leadership Team, NPAS Operations Centre Manager, Safety and Compliance Department, Technical Services Department, the Head of Training and the Resourcing Supervisor.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in producing documents and reports via various methods (audio, dictation, minutes, etc.) to a high standard, in a timely manner before filing and distributing accordingly to facilitate the flow of communication within agreed timescales. Receive, screen and action telephone calls, correspondence, personal enquiries and visitors relating to the delivery of a national service ensuring any enquiries are dealt with efficiently and promptly.

As necessary organise and attend specified meetings, including the preparation of agendas, research material, background papers and minutes, ensuring a correct record of each meeting is maintained and distributed accordingly. The role will require the individual to be able to prepare and present reports for senior internal and external stakeholders and build relationships with police and aviation colleagues.

Please note: a project is underway to identify a model for the long-term provision of Police air support and WYP may not be the host of NPAS beyond June 2024.
