West Yorkshire Police have a rare and exciting opportunity available for a part-time Occupational Health Nurse Advisor to join our Occupational Health Unit based in Wakefield.

You will work as part of a supportive team of clinicians delivering a high-quality service to the organisation. As a specialist in Occupational Health your work will be varied, including case management, involvement in policy development and review, fitness for work assessments, health surveillance, vaccinations and managing contamination. The team are involved in various health initiatives linking in with the wider Wellbeing team.
If successful, you will be supported with an induction to the team and wider organisation to help build your knowledge of the challenges the work force face. You will be encouraged and supported with your development by the Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisor.

We need you to support the Occupational Health team in delivering a fully comprehensive Occupational Health nursing service across the West Yorkshire Police Force area, and to assist the Unit in promoting a healthy, safe, and productive approach to work within the bio-psycho-social philosophy of West Yorkshire Police.

What will you need?

•You must be a qualified Registered General Nurse
•You must evidence your formal Occupational Health qualification or be in your final year of working towards a formal qualification in Occupational Health Nursing as recognized by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
•You will need an experience of modern screening techniques and interpreting results, and you must be competent in the use of a range of computer-based software packages such as Microsoft Office.
•You can demonstrate your ability to take on your own workload and demonstrate effective case management whilst working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
•You will hold a full current UK/European driving license with access to a car which you are prepared to use for business purposes as you will be required to travel across various sites across West Yorkshire.
